I've been on the internet long enough to know what people are saying through their typos or lack of grammar. I'm reminded of a meme that was passed around not too long ago that points out the importance of proper grammar:

Also, another along the lines of, "I'd rather have sex than get eaten by bears" vs "I'd rather have sex then get eaten by bears".

While we're going down this road, I will say the one thing that really surprises me is the amount of people who confuse "dose" with "does". I have a friend who does this constantly, so I know it's not a typo from his fingers working quicker than his brain. Once I noticed him doing this, I've noticed it in others, too. "Dose the mall allow open carry?"

Wait, you mean words have meaning?

I watched most of the Zimmerman trial, and it was *work* to understand that Racheal Jenteel woman.

"I was been pain' attention, sir." I'm still not sure what that sentence is meant to convey.

I almost get your/you're, and their/there/they're, but sale & sell sorta gets me a little as well, but you're gonna get hammered for it just the same.

Carry on.

Are you saying that you personally get these confused or that their misuse irritates you as well?

If the former, you used "you're" correctly. Either way, here's a quick way to help remember:

Your = yours, mine, his, hers, etc. It shows possession. "That is your gun."
You're = Contraction of "you are". You wouldn't say, "That is you are gun."

Same with their/there/they're

Their = Possession. "That is their gun."
There = Place. "The gun is over there on the table."
They're = Contraction of "they are". Just like "you're", you wouldn't say "That is they are gun" or "The gun is over they are on the table."
