I'm wondering what would be s good upper for an AR, I don't care if it's complete or parts but I need help on finding the right things.
I'm preferring to have a short stroke piston system upper but a low profile picatiny rail gas block would do for a DI system upper.
I just don't know what gas block to get, barrel, handguard (has to be a free floating full length quad rail), upper receiver, and bolt group and carrier.
So if anyone here knows what's good just reply yo this or PM me.

What are you setting this rifle up for? Hunting, general purpose, etc? That will help point you in the right direction.

Seems like this was just discussed in another thread………..but true Short Stroke Piston = LMT, LWRC, POF ; never used or tried a Adams or Osprey conversion so……….Black Rifle Arms ????

Barrels -- WC, Satern, WOA, BCM, DD, LW, ARP, Ballistic Advtg, Noveske, Rainier Arms Ultra or lesser, Centurion Arms, FN,

Rails -- best bangs = Midwest Industries, newest YHM?? or Diamond Head?, More costly TROY, Centurion C4 or CMR, DD OMega, Geissele etc…… Modular guards would be Samson Evo or Centurion CMR or Geissele,

Upper -- Mega, BCM, DD, WC, MI?, Vltor MUR…..etc A solid 7075 unit will be just fine.

BCGs -- LMT, BCM, DD, Rubber City Armory?, Centurion, WMD NIBx, Fail Zero, WC, Black Rifle Arms??, ARP bolts, Case Eng.?, CMT, Stag, RRA, etc

Everything depends upon your 'needs' and expectations. Higher expectations can yield higher $$$$ spent, can being the key word. Everyone has their favorites so its a pissing contest if you stick to a company known for quality.

More for the fun of it, plus a bit of practice before I join the military. I'm not trying to make this rifle some some 3gun rifle but I'd like it to be slick looking but also being able to practice a lot with so I have some experience before I join.

You mention slick looking. Then I would strongly recommend not going with a quad rail. Get a free float modular handguard like Samson or Troy.

Just find a complete DI upper some where. There is no need for the extra cost and parts on a piston system. Especially if you are wanting to prep for the military as DI will be all you see. If you want familiarization then a standard M4 configuration from PSA or spikes etc. will probably be perfect. Don't over think this.

I prefer slick rails, but Byron makes a good point. If it's truly to train with for military use, I would get the closest thing possible to what they are issuing.
