My kids find far more options on on Amazon Prime Instant and Netflix than we ever had on cable.

Cut the cord two years ago. No regrets. I actually have MORE options now with streaming services than cable ever offered me. I pay a bit for a higher tier internet package, but a "free" home phone (Ooma) and streaming video (along with over-the-air) more than make up for it. I'm well under $100 per month for all my home telecom services.

The wife's mobile phone is another story though...

I picked up an antenna and the Roku 3 box at lunch. I need to look at how my Cable runs are spliced in at the Cox box on the house. if I can get those free life will be a bit easier hooking up the antenna to the current coax runs. I really don't want to have to jack with running new lines to the two TV's in the house. Although if I do this I can seriously clean up the back of my house of all the coax runs that have been done over the years.

I must be at the opposite end of the spectrum. I have a tv with cable in every bedroom except one and she has a computer with Netflix.
We watch certain shows and I'm big on my college football. Other than I plan on getting rid of DirectTv this year for cable I don't anticipate anything changing.

And we still find plenty to do, but when we're done its nice to have options.

The main things I am interested in watching that I have not been able to find a way to "cut the cable" is:

NCAA Football
NCAA Basketball
NFL games

I know there is NBA League Pass and I can stream right from my AppleTV, but how do I get my NFL and college basketball/football?

I'm in Norman, and I get 4, 5, 9, (ABC, NBC, and CBS, though maybe not in that order) and their sub-channels; 13 (OETA, with three or four sub-channels); 14 (something religious, and subs, I think), 25 (and sub, CMT), 34, 43, 52 (and sub), 61 (and four subs, three of them home shopping), at least one set of Spanish channels, and probably more.

I rarely leave PBS, and typically only during football season.

The only reason I have dish is so I can watch nascar after it goes off fox for the season. I only pay about $75 a month for 200+ channels. That and I like to watch movies every now and then.

I gave up on pay TV a year and a half ago and haven't missed it one bit. In the fall I may not be able to watch a couple football games but that's about it. We have a Roku box with Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Hulu. All I have is Cox internet and it runs me about $54 per month.
