The reason I posted this was because I have heard stories about people being bitten by the chopped off heads of rattle snakes at places like the Okeene Rattlesnake Hunt(has anyone else heard this?). I don't think that I remember of any of those people dying though(very lucky for them). I guess in this case thought, the cobra wasn't good for the chef's health.:yikes2::yikes2:

I was cleaning a rattlesnake a few years ago in Apache, learning how to cook it and such. Cut the head off, disposed of it, grabbed the snake body, and the headless stub whipped around to strike. I just about lost my ****... The ladies teaching me to cook roared with laughter.

Those things have one heck of a nervous system

Many moons ago, I was quail hunting and shot a big rattler (who never once gave me a complimentary warning rattle). He was so big, I decided to turn his skin into a hat band or belt or something. With his head removed, I coiled him into my hunting vest's back pouch. Then, for the next 30 minutes, I felt him squirming around back there. I dare you, try to ignore that. More than once, I was tempted to pull him out just to make sure that he hadn't grown another head and come back to life. A dead snake has a lot of life left in him.

Snake expert Yang Hong-chang - who has spent 40 years studying cobras - says all reptiles can function for up to an hour after losing body parts, or even their entire body.

makes me want some gator tail.. will have to be more cautious next time though!
