What would be happening if there was no video?

The victim, Mr. Scott, was pulled over because of his car’s broken brake light. In the video, one could clearly see the clash between the two. At one point, Mr. Scott runs away and the officer pulls out his gun and fires at him 8 times. The victim is then seen falling face down on the ground.
According to the police incident report, Slager, who is in the department since 2009, had told investigators that Mr. Scott had taken his stun gun. The video, however, shows no such thing, as Mr. Scott seems unarmed.
After shooting the victim, officer Slager handcuffed Mr. Scott, placing his hands behind his back. The video then shows how the policeman walks back to where he was standing when he shot the man then returns to Mr. Scott’s body and apparently drops something next to him on the ground.
After the video surfaced, social media started buzzing with reactions. Most people consider that if it weren’t for the video, the officer might have never been arrested. One such Twitter post says:

“I guarantee if there was no video, the evidence would have automatically matched cops versions.”

If there was no video, there is still evidence that proves the victim was shot only in the back.

Tell that to the Louisiana man that committed "suicide" by shooting himself in the chest with his hands handcuffed behind his back, whilst in a police cruiser.
