The car driver had slowed from 65 to 40, no reason for it. The bike, though at a double yellow, had clear road. The biker was not ticketed. Police took the video.

The female passenger on the bike spent 4 hrs in surgery, to clean the wound and save her forearm and hand. Forearm broke in 4 places, wrist broke, hand broke, 3 fingers broke. Another surgery on Tues to repair tendons and save muscle.

DA is considering charges on car driver. Attempted murder is a possibility.

I read on another forum, that the car driver slowed down by 20 MPH, when the guy on the bike goes to pass. Also the rider wasn't seriously hurt, but his female passenger was, and is in the hospital with critical injuries.

My first vehicle was a motorcycle as was my wife's.
I see this kind of riding and it gives motorcyclists a bad name..Play by the laws.
Yes i like to speed but there are times and places for that and it should not involve a passenger.

I followed a gsxr to his house in my geo metro after he was riding the yellow line between traffic jammed cars on I40..This is legal in California but not here.
As far as i know.

That is what I told him when I caught up to him in his drive way..I said be careful. There are some rednecks here that will end you with a door if they see you pull that stunt.
He was from California and been here 3 years now for a job and did not know...
Shook his hand and told him to keep it safe and have a good day..He thanked me.

One rider to another we need to keep it safe. You ride much longer that way.

... The biker was not ticketed.

Just for the sake of accuracy ... "Sanders (the biker) was cited at the scene for passing in a no-pass zone and for driving with an invalid license."

Regardless of what any/all of us may think, it could be tough to prove the cage driver swerved on purpose; there's any number of reasons he might have done so and his "I don't care" comment(s) don't prove intent.

The comments may not prove intent, but they support the argument that he acted maliciously. His comments to the press won't play well for him either. "I apologize to the passenger but not the driver"

With any luck, the old man will be imprisoned for several years.

Next time I see a man lead his wife across the street by her hand when the Don't Walk sign is on, I'm gunning it straight for her.

I never understood why people get so mad at minor traffic violations by gearheads. That's not the threat on the roads. I think it's a masculinity thing.

I'd be facing an assault charge if I was on scene. My feet are slow and my ground game sucks, but I bet I could beat the dogshit out of Grandpa Jones there. Poor woman.
