I dunno...But I think if we all would just not respond to obviously stupid posts by the undesirables, they will either straighten up or go away. I'm real guilty of taking the bait, but I am going to really try hard not to let the goofiness bother me. Will. Not. Respond. To. Trolling.

We had members that were sympathetic to that stupidity that asked to be banned so they could wear that as some sort of badge and some that left the forum voluntarily to form their own "community". A lot of them have come back and that's Ok. Some have came back under new screen names. That's OK too.
We don't judge them if they do. Everybody has a choice where they want to be.

It would be very cool if you want to be an ass/troll, stay where asses stay, and if you want to be a person that contributes to a community discussion with information that helps the community gain information and help others learn we want you.

It appears the masses currently on OSA want the trolls to disappear, and are not appreciated by the "entertainment." the troll provides.

The mods and Admin are screwed no matter what way we go, but I'll put up a survey about ban or not ban. The forum members make the choice.

Well a quick perusal shows most of his posts are in the Stupid Stuff subforum. So with that in mind I wouldn't expect to find much more than stupid stuff. He's definitely a troll with the posts that I've seen, but they are entertaining to an extent. If it spreads to other forums maybe a bit of moderation is prudent, but I see no reason to ban them. Not yet anyway.

You are definitely right about the mods and admin. Silly season is in full swing.

His posts were moved into to the stupid stuff by another mod.

The comments in some posts that the mods/admins aren't doing their jobs, are not correct.

This would work well if everybody .... and, I mean EVERYBODY ... took this approach. Alas, it won't happen. It's just too tempting for some folks to take the bait.

10mm wont fit in your front pants pocket and would not be controlable if it did, that's why. Just because YOU are too apathetic and lazy to develope really efficient gear and loads does not mean that what I came up with doesn't work (great). Many powders ARE graphite coated to reduce flash. the little bit of blackpowder, compressed under the main charge of bullseye, DOES reduce flash, a lot.

As others have commented, the comments made by those being labeled “trolls” can be funny. Where “Okie” went “dopey” is when he makes a comment about shooting Muslims and then rants about how a shotgun will not stop a man who is prone wearing a helmet. These comments go beyond mindless trolling and into the zip code of bigoted and WTF?.

This is the point. Doe this forum want such “dopey” comments being made on it?

To my other post, if I were hired to sell anti-gun propaganda I would quote Okie. Would love to get a picture of him practicing his forms while wearing his “carry” 9x21 in an El Paso “tanker” shoulder holster while his “practice” 9x21 is wedged tightly cocked and locked between his cheeks. Not IF the mods explain their actions. When someone crosses over the line and posts comments about shooting people of a religion or tries to sell his faux expertise in SD tactics where he is talking about shooting LEOs; I don’t see how any rational person would disagree with that person being censored or banned.

I will respectfully disagree with that. This is not some realty show where forum members vote those who they may simply disagree with off the proverbial island. This is where the moderators do their job of babysitting the so-called adults.

For instance, I don’t like Trump. I realize I have to vote for the autocratic, narcissistic ass hat but I don’t like him. CY and a couple of others who have their orange Trump condoms on too tight (I hear it turns their peckers orange) love anything Donald Trump. They have posters of “the Donald” over their beds where they sit for hours fantasizing about Trump as they deep throat orange cream popsicles. So now when I say that I think Trump is douche, CY goes back on his shrill name calling shtick and whines I am an a “troll being paid by the Israeli government (again) and he gets a certain number of people to agree and I get banned.

Like the old saying goes, “Not my circus, not my monkeys.” But if I am to get banned (again) I would prefer it to be on my terms and from socially depraved comments that I (am prone to) make. Not because of losing some popularity contest with some guys who sucked a six pack of orange popsicles off.

The survey was put up for a reason. It was put up to display that no matter what we do with perceived trolls, some of the membership wouldn't agree with it. On one hand we are called oppressive and heavy handed in passing out bans and/or time outs. Others say we don't hand them out enough and should become less lenient.
If we handed out bans/time outs for everybody that has occasionally violated some part of the forum rules we wouldn't have many members left.
Think of it like driving down the road. We know what the speed limit is, but we hit the cruise and bump it up to 3mph over the speed limit. Your certainly guilty of speeding, but the benevolent OHP hits you with the radar and gives a pass because he is looking for the driver doing 20 over the limit.
Our troll has been running 3 over so far for the most part.
