I already own my 308 but thats an assault rifle. I don't plan on shooting it much as it will be mainly a hunting rifle. My Uncle owns a 338 Ultra Mag and I love it so it's always been a dream to buy one.

I think he actually means .408 Cheytac as a heavy duty rifle. You can get one build on a Stiller action...monster long range caliber...

If you want the .338 for that reason I say go for it!

338 Norma Mag! check it out if you want a boomer that can use a standard action. Out to 400 yards you really don't need much though and a 338 would be overkill really but if a 338 is what ya want then get it :-)
