can't go wrong with the Rem 1100, I've had one since a teenager and never fails. But do have to say... my 410 is the most fun to shoot because you have to be a better shot. Why stop with only one shotgun, ROFL. enjoy

go 20ga., I bought my wife one and she loved it and can shoot quite well, don't know what size your wife is but try the youth models. They fit the average to small women much better.

found a used mossberg pump in a pawn-shop for $200, also a Remmington 1100 Auto, on-line for $325, I'm leaning toward the Auto???

The Mossberg Maverick is a good gun for the money. Espicially for $164.

DUe to my neck injury I had to go from my 12ga guns to a 20ga. I picked up a youth model Mossberg and slipped an extra recoil pad on her 1" extra LOP to 13", and she's perfect for HD or the field!!

Remington 1100 is an excellent choice. I've had mine since I was 12 yo. and it has never let me down.

Mossberg 20 youth. It is cheap, reliable, cheap ammo. & fun to shoot. My wife loves her Mossberg & even with #4 bird shot it is lethal inside a house.
