7 year old kid takes deer with atlatl (video)

I have a buddy in Childress, TX that makes/uses atlatl almost exclusively to hunt. He and his son are some of the burliest men I've ever walked the woods with. His handmade old school long bows/arrows (no glues or modern materials, and all hand carved/fletched) are ridiculous. I think the pull weight on his personal is 160lbs.

My son has been throwing atlatl for many years. At 8 years old he could toss a Bois D'arc tipped (no other tip, just wood) dart and sink it into a tree deep enough where we had hell getting them out. You can throw an atlatl around 100 yards...just not accurately. It doesn't take too much practice until you should be able to hit a pie plate at 20 yards or more though.
