9mm 1911

I'm considering buying a 1911 in 9mm, all my pistols are 9mm do not suggest any other caliber. Right now it's between the RIA VZ, the STI Spartan or getting a base model RIA and having one of our pros here mod it the way i want it, not sure about the cost of that tho. I do know I DON'T WANT an EMP. Suggestions or comments welcomed.

Ahhhh, I see. Then I'd go with the Spartan ... STIs just feel good in my hand. Natural point of aim with them is damned good too ... for me anyway ...

I think before you make the choice, you need to sit down and put down on paper what you are wanting. Then figure out your budget, then contact Dr. Barry or one of the other local Smiths to see what they charge for the work you are wanting done. It might be cheaper just to buy a higher end 1911 that comes with the stuff you want.

Does anyone know of any local shops that sell the STI Spartan so i can get a feel for it? I really liked the feel of the RIA VZ I held.
