Bill to prohibit poor people from entering casinos

So they should also ban the pay day loan places from loaning to the poor. Those places are downright money sharks.

what is considered poor? anything below median income?

You can get lucky in a casino once in a while....but im like you, those payday loan places Oughta be burned to ground.

I think it's an EXCELLENT idea - it just needs some adjustments on the penalty. Cease all their welfare payments for 6 months instead of a minimum $50 fine and taking all their chips!

Why should those taking MY money go give it to the casinos? They're on welfare...getting paid by me (and some of you)! If I want the casinos to get my money - I'll give it to them and take MY chance on getting something in return! Get out of the casino and go get a job!

This is not about travel and entertainment but, yes...it is about the source of the dollars. If they get welfare, they should be held accountable how they spend money. Otherwise they can get a job and go spend their own - earned, not given - money.

Many people on welfare have jobs and do spend their earned money in casinos, on beer, and on cigarettes.

The real problem is that we have state welfare. If we left charity to the people, there would be no reason to even conceive of such a silly law. Once again, the real solution to the problem lies in getting the government out of it.
