Good lord dont let Badge see this. I haven't read "Patriots" but I read one of his others called "Survivors" and it was a good read. Well written, so I can only assume that "Patriots" would be just as good a read.
It's a good read and somewhat realistic (it is fiction) and has some good info in it. Patriots was alright, Survivors was so-so and Founders I did not like much at all.
Read it...and post multiple raving reviews about the book.
For me, it was a decent read. In my opinion, the down side was the painfully detailed descriptions of so of their survival gear. Off the top of my head, I remember a rather lengthy description about cutting crystals for radios or something like that. I quickly learned to skim those sections. If you were in Stillwater, I'd loan you my copy.
First one was pretty "detail" oriented.
I seem to remember a lot of brand names, etc.
For me, the bottom line with any of these types of books is:
Did it entertain me?
Did it make me think of something I hadn't before?
Did I learn anything?
Haha! Not a big fan ... that said we have a copy : ... it's GC's ... if you are closer to me than the rest of these guys, you are welcome to borrow it ... save your coin for a quality read ...
