Some of those derringers aren't so small. I think a Keltec or other small auto wouldn't take up any more room but would offer more shots. I do like the idea of the NAA mini-revolvers though.
Search around and get an old High Standard .22 mag. derringer. No external hammer to be cocked and most were .22 mag. I bought one a year ago and other than the heavy trigger ( the safety with an open trigger guard) it's great.

How is the recoil on that Bond using .45 LC? I have wondered. The Bond offers modern safety features from what I understand, too. If I ever see one at the pawn shop, I'm going to get it right there on the spot.
Well you remember the Wild Wild West? Jim West had three derringers as backups, including a disassembled one in the heel of his boot. His primary was an open carry 45.
