It is a $1a day now. Not sure if it’s double tag price or $100 whichever is higher. They can tow your vehicle for it if they want to. Left my friend standing on the side of the road in Mustang awhile back. I went and got him.

They consider it tax evasion. Hell, I have to “black tag” a couple cars that sit in my shop and haven’t touched public pavement in several years or I get penalized when I get a normal tag and insurance. That’s what I consider extortion.

I black tag my sitting vehicles no big deal.
A new law in Oklahoma is when you sell a vehicle the tags do NOT need to be brought up to date.
NO penalties.
That is a nice one to know.

I am all for pulling over those that have out of date tags and checking insurance etc.
I have been pulled over for it. I have insurance but that one tag slipped by. I was given a warning and I went straight to the tag office and fixed the issue.
I was 3 months out on my Camo Corolla.

That has never happened to me.
