The birds sure seem hungry with this weather.

Anyone know what kind of bird this is?

Birds like the corn I put out yesterday for the neighborhood venison...errrr...deer. Multiple visits by cardinals with even a couple of woodpeckers and a redwing blackbird, too.

We started putting out suet cakes a few weeks ago. I have to take them in a night or the raccoons claim them.
I've been pleasantly surprised by the variety. Several species of sparrows, juncos, wrens, cardinals, blue jays, 2 kinds of woodpeckers, finches (though they seem to have disappeared) and dozens of chickadees.

Noticed that the Blue Jays were enjoying the peanuts we had put out for the squirrels. Now we put out a few cups of them and the bluejays start up their food telegraph!!! Fun to watch 'em along with all the others.
