Caught this fellar runnin does under my stand last night. Had three seperate bucks and 6 does all come running in at almost the same time. I heard the commotion when they were 100 yards away. Deer are not always quiet creatures! Sounded like a herd of cattle coming in, as all three bucks were chasing the does. Took forever for the big buck to stop, I kept giving the normal, grunt and "baaaaa" but that didn't do anything. Finally I yelled at the top of my lungs "HEY!!!!" He was the only one that took notice. .50 cal at 40 yards straight to the chest and he never took another step. Even after the shot and all the smoke, they kept on chasing the does. Middle buck even walked over to the dead buck and rattled horns a few times, then picked up another doe. He isn't the biggest that I have seen out there, and had a little remorse after I shot him, but I am satisfied.
