dang it! I’ve seen owls and hawks do some wicked things to animals larger than them over the years sitting in the deer stands. They are on my do not disturb list.I understand, I’d of done it that way too! LOL! Back in my oil days in the oil field I knew a guy hit one, took it Hotel with him and did his best to mend it. Laid it on a towel in a drawer. Went to bed and to sleep. About three hours later the owl came alive and attacked him in his sleep. Brought lots of blood! Scared the **** out of him. He had to put it down.
Them things ain’t no joke.Boss had asked if I would take him on a duck hunt.
Show up at his house, Saturday morning and it is COLD,clear, calm day. He comes out wearing a Russian fur cap to keep his bald head warm.
Not long after daylight, sitting in the duck blind, a huge owl snatches his hat and claws his head. He screamed gives the owl a couple 3" 12ga lead #2 loads.
His hat got dropped in the water. We retrieve it and head to town. He is bleeding like a stuck hog, but it turned out not serious.
