His testing is not scientific, but his conclusion matches my experience: you can shoot all the steel cased ammo you want, just don't mix it with brass cased ammo. The steel doesn't expand enough to obturate the bore, which allows powder to creep in around the case. When you then use a brass cased round, it expands fully and sticks in the powder. The lacquer or poly are not an issue.
