Today, I was putting tru-oil stock finish on my mossberg model 46. I had removed the barreled action from the stock . I accidentally knocked the tru oil over and it got all over the receiver and the trigger. Will this damage the trigger and the receiver?

Little late to the thread but alcohol will work but I've found the arosol electric motor cleaner (electro-solve) works very well by spray saturating the mechanism, letting all the gunk run out and then it dries very fast. You'll need to replace any lubrication, anti-corrosion or preservative oils.
I've also used brake cleaner (non-chlorinated spray) and pvc cleaner (clear, not purple) for degreasing.
Never have had a finish issues with any of the methods mentioned but may want to spot-check on bluing first. Especially with the pvc cleaner (used it once in a pinch but don't prefer it).
Again, these evaporate very fast and removes all traces of oils.
