TA44 is the best optic for things you'd use a low/no magnification optic on. Aimpoint doesn't hold a candle to it.

Had a TA33 for a short bit and it was just too much for the 10.5 I've been looking at the TA44 for a little while now just haven't pulled the trigger on it yet.

Unless y'all know different... Looks like the Larue combo is the best deal going unless a used one pops up

Yeah that's the way to buy them to save some $$. If you can find a place like optics planet with a coupon or another place having a sale you can about break even on the LaRue deal. I've got a buddy that's been waiting for LaRue for several months already with no ETA yet. I had two on back order for a long time with them probably two months last year and eventually found them on sale through other vendors. Just ordered the LaRue mounts which showed up in a couple days.

Can you explain your reasoning behind this statement? I like my Aimpoints so I'm curios what you feel makes the TA44 superior. I am thinking about getting a TA33 for one of my builds though.

No batteries, durable, self adjusting brightness, etched reticle so even if the FO was destoryed you can still use the scope. Glass quality and clarity is WAY better. At it's worst, it's every bit as good as the H1/T1.
