Rep. Duncan Hunter said Tuesday that President Obama would be breaking the law and even inviting impeachment if he went ahead with strikes on Syria after a congressional rejection. “I think he’s breaking the law if he strikes without congressional approval,” Mr. Hunter, a California Republican, told The Washington Times. “And if he proceeds without Congress providing that authority, it should be considered an impeachable offense.”

“If we’re going to authorize the use of force, and we do strike Syria, we need to go all in, 100 percent, hell-bent on setting them back a decade when it comes to their weapons capability, period. There can be no half-measures,” Mr. Hunter said.

And Mr. Hunter is correct. Do it right or don't do it at all. My vote is don't do it at all. Assad is fighting Al Qaeda and winning. We can wait.

And I hope Mr. Hunter is willing to draft articles of impeachment himself. It'd be pretty ironic that they came from commiefornia. :D

Just to add some interesting perspective;

http://www.americanthinker.com/2013/09/obama_tosses_syrian_hot_potato_into_republicans_laps.html

Sorry if the link doesn't work, cut and paste it and it's good.

The cliff notes are that the author thinks the attacks are likely as anything "false flag" ops by the rebels to leverage US military power against the regime. Seems plausible in an asymmetric warfare sense. he has some other interesting stats that we seem not to hear much about these days as well.
