They are awesome. I love mine. It's one of my favorite and most accurate rifles. He will love it as well.

I had settled on getting a Savage Mark II GY; but he's demonstrated safety and proficiency with a BB gun, so I think he'd love the AR style. Sounds like I would too.
My most "fun" gun in a long time and a hoot to add stuff to it to make it tacticool. Very reliable, eats anything you feed it and just plain fun! I rattle-canned mine in a snakeskin pattern (last pic) and dig it.[Broken External Image][Broken External Image][Broken External Image]

Most fun piece of polymer you can put in your hands! Plus when your young'un learns the AR like controls, he slide right into a real AR no problem.
