M1a chassis worth it?

I’ll be doing nothing for now except shooting it after getting some better ammo. Bought it on a whim to eventually shoot some pigs.

I obviously need to learn more about the platform.

Try some PMC bronze 147 grain.

It may be my eyes, but I found it hard to pick up the NM sights in the woods. I have a Loaded and half thought about putting standard sights on it for that reason.

Well, M-80 ball type ammo is usually not very accurate. If you are trying different ammo almost anything but ball would be a better choice. Be aware many of the FMJ bullets are a steel jacket with a copper wash. GI ball, Winchester White box, Federal is a copper jacket, and I don't know about PMC. As for a unitized gas system, it almost always helps, but you rifle will tell you weather you need it or not by where your bolt hold open shot goes from you main group.. welcome to the world of M-1As!!!!
