That grip is so much better. A buddy of mine had the Chiefs special and I hated those massive sticky grips.
Spent some time at the range again this afternoon since the weather was really nice. Was testing with carry ammo (power ball and Hornady critical defense) and some old Wolf steel case I had left over. Neither had any issues. New grips on the CS9 felt good.
Thanks. I'm always tinkering with something. This morning, I swapped the pinky extension floorplate for an old metal floorplate from a model 39 for more of a flush fit. I tend to get a lot of printing in light clothing with the pinky extension.

I had this one on my GB watch list and was thinking about bidding on it, but wasn't sure. I was skeptical of the finish since a stainless version of the 915 was not offered. Made me think it had been cerakoted or something. What made up my mind was when the auction turned to a fixed price BIN at $285. Figured it was worth the chance at that price. It's one of the ones in the batch that Cole Dist has. Came only with one new Mec-gar magazine.
After getting it home, I gave it the once over and it looks to be in pretty decent shape. The barrel looks brand new. It had some reflective tape on both sides of the barrel, which came right off without any issues. The finish on the frame and slide are the same, which I think confirms my suspicion about the cerakote job. It appears to be well done and I actually like the look of it.
