Been listening to the clips all day on the radio. They are just clips mind you, so context is pretty much nonexistent. But it sure sounds like he's in damage control mode. It also sounds like he's perfectly fine with everyone going absolutely ape $h!t over the mere rumor of a gunshot. "Can't be too safe" is the overall idea. God what lemmings!

Dude, I thought the very same thing. For an HOUR after they had confirmed there was NO gunfire or a shooter there were STILL news helicopters circling overhead saying, "This COULD have been a very bad situation." "This MIGHT have been a worst case scenario." Call it what it was: a false alarm.

CNN recapped that week in the news by saying that there were shootings at a couple of colleges, and a threat of a shooting at OU.

Think about that.

If the instructor had thought he/she saw a nuclear cloud rising over Tinker when there wasn't one, would that count as a nuclear strike that week?

No it wouldn't, but you can bet that they would be saying they were justified in shutting down the entire state in the name of "being safe". :D
