They've been doing referendums on this for a long time.
Only 23% turnout though? I question the legitimacy of this outcome.
In any case, Puerto Rico should never become a state, in my opinion.
With only 23% turnout, it just means that the other 77% don't care one way or the other and are just along for the ride.

Heh. Well-spotted.We speak good 'ol American at home. Tried that proper English but we all just got confused.
One of the Best NCO's I ever served with was a female Puerto Rican SSG, in Iraq.Served with many fine Puerto Rican Soldiers and Officers over the years. Got into one heck of a firefight in 2003 in Iraq. The Puerto Rico National Guard was there for us and fought like champs. I have nothing but respect for the Island and their people. They fight for the United States, are U.S. citizens, statehood only makes sense. My partner in crime for many years was a Command Sergeant Major from Puerto Rico. He handled troops like no one I have seen before or since. Bring puerto Rico in with open arms if they desire, their culture and service will complement the flag.
Turnout is usually a LOT higher, but the opposition was blockading the vote.
I read an article that said turnout is usually 70+% in PR. If we only had participation like that!Where is that reported?

She has a big ass an no talentJennifer Lopez is of Puerto Rican decent. That's enough justification for me.
