I am trying to study all I can about a Comp revolver.....or maybe a 1911......or maybe a Glock, heck, maybe all three seeing how I cant decide. Anyways, is there any recomendations as to where to buy the gun or any places that I can buy the gun from and have it worked? Like I say, I am new too all of this and dont need another hobby, but I cant help myself.

depends on what u want to spend. I would suggest glock, para double stack, caspian double stack. I got a para superhawg p14 with Wilson comp. it shoots pretty good out of the box.

Before you start trying to narrow down what gun you want you should narrow down your budget first. We would be more able to give suggestions after that.

First decide which game you are going to play, then decide the division.

IDPA/USPSA - a Glock 34 will be a good start for production or SSP, a nice 1911 would work for single stack or CDP. If you want a full blown race gun for open class, they sky is the limit... Keep in mind a starter open class rig is going to cost about 3 grand minimum for gear/mags/holsters/mag pouches.

Something like a Glock is going to get you into the gun games the cheapest.

Agree with above posts, need to decide what types of competitions you want to shoot. As Dennis said the M&P pro is a good choice as well as a Glock 35. Both can be worked on for trigger jobs more readily than some other models.

Also I bet you could go to the matches in the Duncan area and guys would let you check out, shoot thier guns to see what you like and how they feel to you. If possible, try before you buy.

Since youre new to this, don't toss out a **** ton of money on an STI 2011 race package to start out with.
I would suggest you go to a couple matches with what you have to get a feel of the game first, and then if you like it and want to play more you can start pouring your paycheck into it.
A Glock 35 or M&P pro are great pistols to run with. The pro can easily have a nice trigger with the factory parts after giving them a good polish.

Then you're gonna want a magwell and extended mag baseplates to gey more capacity out of it.
Dawson precision is king for Glock aftermarket parts.
Speed shooter specialist is king for the M&P.
If going with a 2011 get an STI and stay far away from the Para double stacks.

Fora comp revolver S&W performance shop, or a 627 and send to Apex for action work. Expect to spend about $1500.00 for a good to go comp revolver and about another $500.00 for accessories.
