For Oklahoma - I assume they are legal? What’s the good, bad and ugly with them? I know very little about’um. Are they worth it? What do you use or recommend? I’ll be commuting 200+ per day for work and after this morning I think it’s a good time to spend the money on a good unit. What day you?

I use an Escort iX, best one I have used to date. I get about a mile of warning, fully configurable and with GPS it remember routes and silences false alarms, meaning it gets quieter the more you travel the same route. With a phone app, you can set up preferences and radar bands and band frequencies. I looked at the Valentine V1 as well and decided to go with the Escort. I dont run it as much as I used to with my dually, but with the wifes mustang we use it quite a bit. This one has paid for itself time and again. Especially running down I-40 between here and Nevada.

Do you always obey the speed limits? Ahhhh, didn’t think so. Thanks for playing.

Whether radar or other means they are in use by many.
Yes, I always obey the speed limits.

I don't know a single person who has a radar detector. I know several that have cams in their cars, but no radar detectors.

Not in Oklahoma!
There are too many places I would consider a speed trap designed for nothing more than a BS revenue source!

I used to use one in the 90's, but sometimes the officers would leave their radar off so they did not work, then the officer would turn his radar on in a instant.

In the name of public safety, all cop cars should be fluorescent pink and completely imbeded with that reflective stuff in the paint!

😁

I run a Uniden R3 in my weekend toy along with using Waze for stationary alerts by fellow Wazers. My R3 has saved me multiple times!

Uniden also has the new R7 with arrows to let you know which direction you're getting hit from.

Look up Vortex Radar on YouTube, he reviews all the detectors.

In OK, I have seen K-band still used by some smaller departments, but anything in the metro areas will be Ka band. LIDAR is also used.

Can't do anything about LIDAR unless you run a scrambler, but you'll know in advance if a cop is checking for speeders with K/KA.

Just this past weekend a car was on my tail and I was driving the speed limit of 65 MPH and he passed me on the double yellow and went out of sight. I seen a cop headed toward me make a u-turn and behold...pulled the car over. He must have been doing eighty. I felt sorry for the driver, I know he'll get a hefty ticket.
