Ok, stupid question. I have an EOTech XPS2 for my AR. I had it on, then pulled it off and put a scope on it. I want to put the EO back on for some practice next week. I have a flat top AR. Does the sight have to go in the exact same notches it was in before to be accurate? Sorry, I'm new to having any type of scope or optic on a weapon.

Yes I can, but I'm going to be at a range I've never been to, with a boy who's never shot a rifle....so I was trying to keep the adjustment/tweak level to a minimum and the fun level to a maximum.

Yea, I probably need to get one of those.

You don't need a tool to get close. I just pulled the rear pin, the bolt, set it on bags, and peeped down the barrel. At 50 yds I centered it as best possible on the target - big red dot on a 8.5x11 paper, and then centered the scope. Got me on paper.
