I have with scope on it not with iron sights. Very accurate. Check out Hickok 45s review of savage 99 on you tube. It will tell you all you want to know. Appreciate it

This is a Model 99E, Savage's "economy" model (cartridge counter omitted, first versions released in 1960 with uncheckered walnut stocks, later years featured pressed checkering with non-walnut stocks), produced from 1960 to 1983. From what I can see of the wood, it's stained birch which would likely make this a 99E Series A produced sometime after 1971. The serial numbers from these guns will have an alpha prefix.
