You're right. On second though, you should probably leave any tools they might need to remove your trail cameras there also, that way they don't accidentally cut themselves with a pocket knife trying to take it down.

I also always leave a spare Glock and some body armor by each entry point to my house so that I won't have an unfair advantage against any intruder.

I also always cut the hooks off my fishing lures!

The more and more I read your posts, the more I realize how truly "special" you are.

To recommend that someone knowingly take an action which would intentionally hurt someone is absolutely asinine! There are PLENTY of other ways to solve the problem. A solution like what you have suggested should not even be an option.

Different people would take a different approach.

I like the GPS idea, but why put it in a dummy camera? They may find out its broke and throw it out before you realize its gone. I'd put it in a real working one, you're going to get it back via the GPS anyway.

My friend and I have now had two trail cam's stolen on our lease property. Does anyone know of a real time GPS tracking device that is somewhat low cost with a small monthly fee?

I am thinking about putting one in a dummy camera. So far this is the best I have found.

The reviews on the zoombak aren't great. I like the idea but I think the short battery life could make it impractical for long term set ups like a trail cam.

I understand you don't want to intentionally hurt anyone, but it seems so hard to catch these thieves. Knock on wood, I have not had anything stolen, but I know it may happen soon.

I obviously don't have an answer to stop these people, but setting some type of "trap" might make people think twice before stealing something else. It also might turn it into a "war" of other traps, and holes covered up with leaves that would cause more injuries.

I don't have any interest in hurting anyone unless my life is endanger. The issue is to notify the local game warden or other local authorities of illegal activities. These folks know they are where they are not suppose to be. More than likely they are already know to the local authorities anyway.

I'm not getting this???
I've owned a few CJs but never heard of this or understand what your saying.
Please elaborate

They would take a 1x1 (or slightly smaller) and cut a slit every inch or so and in the slit glue disposable razor blades and mount them under the dash and sometimes under the back seat if they had stereo equipment. When a person reached into the area they weren't supposed to reach into, Karma would catch up with them fairly quickly.

I love the idea of a thief hurting themselves during their thievery, but for some reason I smell a lawsuit with the razorblade idea.
OK forget the Claymore, set up a bunch of bear traps around the camera....the kind u step in and they brake your ankle, darn I smell that lawsuit again.....LOL
don't take my advice, I'm just fantasizing!
