Any chance one could beg borrow or barter for some seeds and info?
What would you like to know? I learned a lot in the past year regarding seeds and planting. Planted our first garden, harvested the seeds and canned what we didn't eat.
I have a close friend who ran a market garden for the last 10 years, If you have some specific questions, I would be glad to ask him.
He is pretty knowledgeable, I have learned a lot from him over the past couple years.
Are you looking at growing in your backyard or on a piece of land?
I was thinking about Community and Shelter, hadn't considered bartering.
I will start the posts and see where it goes. Hopefully we can keep the conversation on a serous level.

My point is that you can find what you want all over the place around here without too much trouble and with very little to no cost. Anyway, that's enough "seed stuff" to get you started ...
Opps, I just noticed you are in Tulsa ... No matter, just call the local libary or county extension office or google "seed exchanges Tulsa" and that should net you a mother lode of stuff ...
As for gardening, it all depends on what techniques you are most interested in. Here are some of the more popular sites (i.e., the stuff I'm most interested in right now lol)

There's plenty of other "side subjects" like composting, vermiculture, small animal husbandry (for the nutrients their waste adds to your compost), greenhouse and hot frame growing ... the list goes on and on, so it just kinda depends on where your particular interests lie. Whatever you do, HAVE FUN with it!
Our lives are already stressed out enough, so start small and work your way up (that's the little bitty t-tiny voice of experience speaking there! lol) or you will be so overwhelmed you won't know what to do with yourself ...

Another thing to try ... Google "seed exchange" and you can find all kinds of places where you can get seeds for little or no cost, just as long as you are willing to let a plant or two go to seed and return those seeds to the exchange ... They are pretty nifty ways to get some really unusual or hard to find seeds.
