Yea, with Israel being our ally in the region I would guess they would be the direct targets of any recourse anyone wanted to send our way. So to assume Israel would launch a preemptive attack is within reason. Like everyone else is saying, if this thing goes down as it looks like it might right now, it can easily snowball into WWIII & quickly. Israel is willing to defend it's people with everything they have, Iran has been waiting for a excuse to make them a parking lot & while Russia is playing no sides, they are arming the Syrian government, have a port there & are not really happy with the US here as of recent thanks to king Obama. The elements of a huge blowout are looming.

Washington (CNN) -- With a flurry of diplomatic signals and activity, U.S. officials sought Tuesday to lay the groundwork for a possible military strike on Syria in response to last week's suspected chemical weapons attack that Washington blames on President Bashar al-Assad's regime.
The White House offered legal justification, with spokesman Jay Carney telling reporters that the large-scale use of chemical weapons in Syria presented a national security threat to the United States that required a response.
