Hell My mom's family is still fighting a war amongst themselves. Been doing it for the better part of 40+ years.

Other than that. My father in law was in Vietnam. No documented knowledge of any other family members serving.

My older brother did two rounds in Viet Nam - late 60's - early 70's in USAF out of DaNang. The only other combat veteran I know of in our family is my maternal great-grandfather; served for the CSA from Alabama, then moved to Logan County, Arkansas after the war.

family history is very cool , as to your ? my family has fought in all of our countrys wars all the way back to the war of 1812

I have to say one of the coolest feelings I ever had was sitting in the archives in Austin, TX and looking at the names of my relatives from the Mexican census of 1829. The dad was pretty old but he had a 16yo son.
One of them went on to fight in the Army of the Republic of Texas and went on to be in some Navy for the Mexican-American war. IIRC Texas gave him 7500 acres for his years of service. I found a pension request many years later where he said he had under 200 acres and a small count of cattle.
His son fought in the Texas Brigade for the CSA and judging by what I've read a whole lot of them got killed. Thankfully, he made it.

Another relative was killed at the Battle of Middle Boggy Depot. About half of the Seminole Battalion of Mounted Rifles were killed there.

What about your family?

many have fought dating as far back as the civil war with my last name but no direct relation as my family was still overseas then.

Confirmed - Grandpa POW Guard during WW2 Dad served during the last half of the cold war and desert storm; I served during OIF and just hit end of contract without deployment. So while I didn't fight in the war I Served and was rear detachment during OIF2
