I think this is a pretty good grouping at 3/4 down range for my second time
shooting this gun.

Is that a Wilson CQB? If so, all your shots should be through the same hole. Just kidding. :D

Looks good to me.

Thats why I want to know how come so may flyers. All should be through the same hole.

That is what happens to paper targets when a slow moving large chunk of copper jacketed lead pushes through.

Is it keyholing or is that typical of the 1911 with paper targets?

I see that anytime I use FMJ in my .40 or .45.

:anyone:

It seems the flat or truncated nose of the .40 and round nose of the .45 rip the paper into those "slits," rather than punching the clean clean hole a JHP leaves.

how far is that range anyway ? that is a pretty good shot. where did you aim at near the chest area ?
about 3/4 down the range I don't know exactly how far it was.

Not bad but a good 1911 should be able to make one ragged home at 25 yards if you do your part. Not that I can do it I'm just saying that gun can shoot a lot mote accurate than that group.
Like I said only second time shooting this gun for my first .45
