Found this article interesting, especially considering the fact that the study came out of West Point of all places. Sounds like it could have come from MoveOn.org. And no, this is not an article from infowars...no offense, Reddog.

It (the report) says anti-federalists “espouse strong convictions regarding the federal government, believing it to be corrupt and tyrannical, with a natural tendency to intrude on individuals’ civil and constitutional rights. Finally, they support civil activism, individual freedoms, and self government.

What a bunch of psychotic terrorist wannabes!

So the intelectual center of the U.S. military, founded by the government with the sole purpose of defending the government is actually making statements about the potential enemies of the government. It boggles the mind, Bruce.

This report was written by a single individual...foreign born, civilian, social science academic. Not surprised in the least. Taken with a grain of salt.

It is important to understand that the CTC does not speak for West Point. The CTC doesn't even speak for the CTC...they are a think tank with a bunch of academics...spitting out independently written research papers.

His bio is here: http://www.ctc.usma.edu/posts/experts/dr-arie-perliger

(also important to note that it doesn't "label anti-federalists as potential terrorists". It states that right wing terrorist groups in the US often exhibit anti-federalist behaviour/attitudes. World of difference and hard to argue with if one is honest)

Yeah, and it essentially lumps those with constitutionalist, libertarian leanings in with neo-nazis. Boggle that.

Have you read the report Pokem?

It does nothing of the sort. It analyzes the behavior and attributes of known terrorist groups and categorizes them. The only time anything is lumped in with anything else is where there is documented cooperation between groups.

It does not state that if someone has anti-federalist leanings then they are potential terrorists. It says that some known terrorist groups have espoused anti-federalist sentiment. That is a factual statement, regardless of whether or not anyone gets their panties in a wad about it.

Should they be doing a similar study on left leaning groups? Sure, and I bet there will be one coming out shortly.
