Well, after shopping for a year I finally submitted a contract on some hunting land. The contract was accepted so now I'm just waiting on the title company to get the paper work ready. We hope to close on Nov. 19th. 80 acres near Wanette. Can't wait - going there tomorrow. I put in the contract that I get hunting rights until closing so I wouldn't have to wait.

Congrats on the new purchase.....it doesn't stop there. Soon there will need to be a tractor, implements, seed, fertilizer, feeders, corn, lime, and a never ending list of things that need to be fenced, repaired, etc. The land is cheap. The other crap that goes with is really expensive.
Welcome to the list of people that love to be beat with a cat o' nine tails for hunting.:D

I know - I know. There is absolutely nothing on this land but a creek and a pond. I already have a good travel trailer to put on it so electricity will be the first improvement. Then water, sewer, etc. I hope to get to the tractor and farming part in time for wheat planting next year. I might borrow or rent to get in some beans in the spring, we'll see how it goes. i do still have a little cash, but I wouldn't call it excess.
