I work security at St.Francis,it's not against the law but it's against policy here.If you're caught and you are a visitor,we're going to escort you to your car and have you lock it in it.If you're being admitted and don't have anyone with you to take it,we're going to take it to our office and lock it up until you leave.

What about OSU? I am assuming since it is a teaching hospital that it is considered a campus of OSU and therefore off limits?

OSU falls under "Business Owner's Rights" and not under a governmental or school entity unlawful carry situation. Therefore the penalty could be trespassing. Tulsa does not have an ordinance banning guns on college campuses. Stillwater may have such an ordinance though :anyone:

The unlawful carry at schools is only for places where high school age kids & below attend.

OSU health center downtown is owned by a cooperative trust of St. Francis, St. Johns and hillcrest in partnership with OSU. That was done in order to keep it's doors open otherwise the other 3 could not have absorbed the influx of indigent patients.

2 years ago St. Johns employees didn't get raises because they poured their money into the trusts purchase of the medical center.

It is not a college campus either, it is a teaching hospital.

FYI St. Johns is actually St. Johns catholic owned and managed they receive a lot of financial support from the Kaiser foundation.

I don't ever want to go to St. Francis if I am sick or injured.

Can we carry in St. Johns hospital In Tulsa. I don't see any gun buster signs.

They're all over the place, but so are the no smoking signs and nobody pays any mind to those.

You must be blind then.

St. Johns insists that they can prohibit you from having a firearm in your vehicle. In direct violation of state law their HR policy still claims that leaving a firearm in your vehicle on their "campus" is grounds for termination. They are not a government entity doing business with the public, nor are they a k-12 or accredited college. Their security chief has also supposedly "confiscated" weapons from people.

St. Johns is extremely anti carry, left my pistol in the car when I went in to see my doc at the physicians building earlier this week, still had my holster on and my edc knife. Doc mentioned st. johns "policies" to me my wife works in the organization as well.

I honored their no firearms sign on the door, but I knew I was going to have to take my shirt off plus my wife works their. Concealed is concealed do what your conscience tells you is right.

I do too. Where does she work?
