They may have gotten nervous or been seen doing this and ran before they could gather up your car or your stuff.

As for the police not responding..... My insurance company always wants a police report??? I think that's BS on the PD's part!

After being broke into twice and having to replace the glass and some nice stereos, I put the factory radio back in and took literally everything of value and started leaving my doors unlocked.

Yup. My old car got broken into and I lost a GPS, stereo, radar detector, and ipod. Now I leave nothing in there worth value, but I still lock my doors.

No offense but you can't call it "broke into" if you leave the doors unlocked. It's more like you shared your items with anyone who wanted them.

I know what you are saying but I whole heartedly disagree. If it's yours I have no business touching it. If it's mine, the same applies. If you need it ASK!

That's fine. To me, leaving your doors unlocked is the same as leaving them wide open with a note on the windows that says "Free Stuff". They put locks on the doors for a reason. Do you also leave the doors to your home unlocked even when you leave? I see no difference.

Thats like saying I leave my house unlocked but its not really stealing if the neighbors come in and clean me out while I was at the grocery store- because I left it unlocked I pretty much invited them to come over and rob me.

In this day and age, yeah you pretty much did. I never said it isn't stealing or wrong. I just said you might as well invite them in to browse for goodies. But like most people say, locks only keep the honest people out. Which if you think about it means if you leave it unlocked you have twice as many people willing to steal your stuff :D
