Ruger 10/22 help

Hey guys, maybe one of you can help. I installed a new barrel on my Ruger, and I seem to be having issues with misfires on the first round. Does anyone know of a good gunsmith, in the okc area, who could take a look and make sure I didn't jack anything up. Thanks for the help, in advance....

Take it apart and try again man. Clean your bolt too... Cleaning never hurts Make sure the pin hasn't suffered dry fire damage

Thanks bro. I will check it all out tonight. The first round is getting stuck and will usually fire the 2nd time.

If it having feed problems, just take it down and start again. Helps to have vise (got mine at lowes for $20, spent an extra $10 for vise liners)

Not firing. I will pull the action back and the round will not eject. So I pulled trigger again, then it fires.
It has done this several times.

Crap, I put a bull barrel on it and that SOB is a pain to get on.

Your heavy barrel probably has a target chamber and is tighter than a factory chamber. Unfired rounds will not normally extract unless you upgrade to and aftermarket extractor. Fired rounds are not a problem as a 10/22 is a blowback action.

Are you letter the bolt slammed forward to seat the first round? If the first round is not fully seated, it will cushion the blow of the firing pin and not fire.

Make sure the extractor is not dragging on the extractor cut in the barrel either at the top or bottom of the cut. I had to file mine a bit on a barrel change...the cut not the extractor.

Never seen this in dozens of barrels. What make of barrel?

Took it apart this weekend and clean the damn thing like crazy. Now the first round will not feed at all... it pinching the top of the shell.
