what a bunch of freakin cry babies. go get a cake somewhere else.

It's not about being a cry baby. It's about being loud and proud. They just want to make a spectacle of themselves. I personally don't have any problem with gays or gay marriage, but I get tired of the scene making. I don't walk around trying to make a big deal of the fact that I'm straight. Just get married, go on your honeymoon and come home like the rest of the world.

I'm so tired of this entitlement political correctness crap i could just puke. If the guy doesn't wanna bake you a cake, go somewhere else.....all your buddies will follow you and the gay friendly bakery will have a reality show in 6 months, then you can all frolick and dance around and be happy and swap shoes n stuff. If ya wanna be gay...fine...seriously...just don't expect everyone on the planet to be ok with it.
Sheez......

A business should have the right to refuse service to anyone.

As for Gay Marriage thing, I have no problem with the civil union idea. If marriage is inherently a religious ceremony then the government should (from this point forward) only issue civil union licenses. You can still have a your wedding in a church and have it recognized by your church as marriage. Absolutely nothing would change for anybody

This is absolutely correct. Forcing anyone to do or not to do business, is a restriction of freedom. Framing this as a fight about religious principles sounds nice, but the real issue will be resolved when government decides to tell the business what it must do/who it must serve.

You mean like selling liquor or REAL beer in a grocery store.

Does the bakery not a sign at the door or the owner have the right "TO REFUSE TO SERVICE". Same as the customer has the right to "SPEND YOUR MONEY AT THE BUSINESS THAT WANTS IT" Business posts "no guns", I will shop elsewhere. Gubment stay the hell out of it. FREE MARKET, I will SELL what I deem my customers want to buy, Choose who my customers will be. Choose which businesses I will patron.

get the :finger: over it.

Rick, as others have said, the problem you have with this situation is not due to gay marriage -- it is due to anti-discrimination laws. If we would get rid of these laws and get the government to quit infringing on everyone's right to freedom of association, all these kinds of problems would go away.

Ignore the birther intro.

And this isn't the first time it has happened. A wedding photographer was sued for not photographing a gay wedding in a state where gay marriage isn't even legal. And a church was sued for not renting out property that they rent out for weddings to a gay wedding.

I also came to the conclusion long ago that the problem isn't the definition of marriage, it is the state control of marriage. Why should I need permission from the state in what should be a decision between me, my spouse, and (if applicable) my God? Fact is, no one but the religious would be bothering with marriage if the state had never gotten involved. There should be no benefits tied to marriage, or who is having sex with who, they should be tied to households. If two room mates are helping each other out with expenses the same way a married couple would, why can't they file joint taxes? Why can't you name your own next of kin? Yes, there would be other kinks to work out, but the problem with marriage isn't it's definition, it's government interference. This is why those pro-gay marriage libertarians crack me up. They claim to be libertarians yet are pulling for more government control, I guess you could call them big government libertarians.
