Above ground, or below. Don't wait until the storm is here to get ready. Mine is clean and we have our bag ready to go.

I will not go into a hole full of spiders.

I fogged and cleaned mine a few weeks ago. The dust really shut my lungs down so I've got masks ready to go. I bought about 40 cans of meat/veg/fruit/pastas with the peel top can. Miraculously, it all fit in a 5 gallon bucket.

Yep - I shop-vac'd mine out a few weeks ago; it has a tendency to draw everything from beetles to fiddlebacks. I even got two dried out toads that must have got in there late in the fall. I need to give it a booster, just in case we need to dive into it tomorrow. It's a set-in-the-garage floor unit.

I hate the doom style forecast nowadays. I wish they would say to early to tell just be prepared for possible bad weather next week or what ever. Crying wolf is what gets everyone not to pay attention anymore. Need rain but damn glad I am not going to have to work long long hours to fix problems by Doom storm.
