You're exactly right, Keen. That is indeed the crux of the issue.

If you want to go about your business in public 'merely' carrying a slung rifle then be my guest.

If you want to enter a hypothetical restaurant for which I am responsible with long-arms slung in the front, magazines in giving the appearance of a loaded gun and your hands on fire control it will be seen with hostile intent and treated accordingly. Your fault, not mine.

Bring a long-arm into a hypothetical restaurant for which I am responsible in some other condition and you will be ridiculed, castigated and asked to leave. If you refuse things will escalate to whatever point you determine by your actions to be necessary.

"Merely" openly carrying a long gun into a restaurant? "Peacefully attempting to enjoy a meal"? I find your arguments laughably asinine. Return to your coloring books, please. Don't choke on the crayons...

Methinks EK is proud of his troglodyte-edness...

But maybe even the usual characters are getting tired of these backfiring open carry stunts. We can only hope.

Here's a link with more pics of some of the winners who were out there "fighting for our right to carry". Good lord:

Thanks for the compliment, friend! ;)

I also missed that link earlier that you posted while on my iPhone. Ye gods and little fishies... the stupidity burnses me brain. And I don't mean the 'Moms Demand Action' spaktards either.

And there is your issue: you see someone merely openly carrying a long gun to be implying a threat, when absolutely no threat was made or actually implied.

Are you frigging high? He was NOT "merely openly carrying a long gun". He entered an establishment with an offensive weapon deployed and ready to engage targets. In this day of mass shootings, in my mind this is an action that legitimately "warrants alarm" and is in no way a benign exercise of 2A rights.

This stupidity will encourage further restrictions, as it demonstrates some people are not capable of restraining themselves.

You know how you thank a store for supporting our side, or for at least remaining neutral on the topic? Try saying "thank you." Tell the manager that you appreciate their pro/neutral stance. If you don't want to talk to a person, fill out a feedback card or visit their Web site.

That's going to get us a lot farther than making a spectacle that forces them to take action--particularly when they're only trying to stay neutral on the topic. And it would greatly help if people would stop confusing businesses that actively support 2A efforts with those who're just trying to remain neutral so they can sell their goods to the largest possible customer base (and there's not a single danged thing wrong with that).

Please explain to the class how your response to a situation is anyone else's fault instead of yours. You are the one who decides upon your own actions, not someone else.

Carrying a firearm (regardless of type), or any other tool, is not, in and of itself, a hostile or threatening act.

The actions of the person carrying the instrument in question is what determines whether or not there is a threat.

I'm not saying if I think carrying a long gun openly a good idea or not, just that the act itself does not constitute a deadly threat alone.

Home run. I would add, throw some extra business their way in addition. Make it a point to frequent those establishments a little more often.

No, I'm not high. You should check your reading comprehension: English kanigit and I were discussing a hypothetical scenario wherein a person carrying a long gun entered into a restaurant English owned. There was never a statement by either of us concerning the actions of the gun carrying individual, only that he was there.

I went to the local pizza hut wearing my tool pouch, ask the waitress if I could just put it on the extra chair....No problem she said.
No one even looked at it as They walked by, while I was eating... ;)

How do you know if a business really allows own carry unless someone actually open carries there? If they say they allow it then ban it the first time someone actually does it then they deserve to be called on it.

And everyone should remember that this is happening in Texas and the only gun you can legally open carry is a long gun.

You didn't understand anything I said. Its a private business. The 2nd amendment doesn't apply. The owners opinion does. Why trample on the owners decision to allow guns by blatantly carrying a rifle into a business like this one?

What point does it serve?

That being said, I wouldn't put bloomburg past putting some plants out there to incite a reaction that would further his cause to take our guns away.

I would say your all are all wrong . Manners thats what we need , my momma told this here hillbilly to put the guns in the gunrack , den come eat.

So's I bet ifn the estabulatory werent opposed to firearms, where was the gunrack? How can you fault a person doing the best they can under demeaning and repressive conditions?

Now if they was a rack they were a needing a good back of the head scroggin.

so manners thats where we fail today, its easy to be tolerant of good manners.
