Sad. Glad nobody is dead. If this is accurate, a nice career (and a job I would have killed for at one time) have most likely been lost.

Our society has a huge drug problem, and the worst one is alcohol. Nobody is exempt from the risk. I hope this man gets the help he apparently needs. The fact that he is OHP makes it a titillating news story, but there's a real person there who is at great risk.
The truth is a wet blanket but it's still true. I've got tons of sympathy for the young man, but this thread is its own reality.

Just one more example of how THE ONE that doesn't deserve any recognition, gets it, while the numbers of fine men and women who get up and go to work every day and do their job, don't get any recognition at all.

But ... haters gonna hate ...

I, also, am glad that no one was hurt ... or worse.

Guys, the trooper made a mistake. He made a mistake that I sort of understand. I'm not suggesting that he be strung-up and have molten lead poured down his fundament. I hope to meet him some day and i'll buy him a b...
I mean a cup of coffee. Until further notice... This story is funny, plain and simple.

No ... It's not funny. It's not funny at all. At best, it's just sad because the only life he's F'd up so far (assuming he has no family) is his own. The reality of it is his mistake has affected an entire group of men and women who don't deserve to be judged by his individual mistake.

Yeppers. Anytime a member of a law enforcement agency gets in trouble with the law, it is a detriment to all the others in that agency. I think there might have been 2 or 3 incidents that occurred during our time at the OSBI. I can guarantee that in spite of the extensive background check done by them, there are always those occasional ones that come along. And rightfully so, those individuals that have demonstrated poor judgement need to be out of their agency.

I don't get news stories for when I do my job correctly.

But, as someone who has been hit by a drunk driver, screw this guy sideways.
