Are there any newer models that are worth a damn? All of the newer models I have handled are not anywhere in the same league as the ones my Grandfather handed down.

Very nice!
When I was still hand loading I used a moderate charge of W231 under a 158gr lead semiwadcutter w/gas check in a 357 case to avoid the carbon ring buildup in front of a 38 case.
A little hotter than a 38+p but still mild compared to full house magnum.

My field round for K-frame is 5 grains of Unique with a 158 grain Keith-style semi-wadcutter. 231 or Bullseye with cast bullets is great for target shooting. I have used 125 grains loaded pretty hot (H110 or 2400) for my home defense load, but haven't fired very many.

Gotta love the K-frame S&W revolvers - my current field revolver is a pre-war Hand-Ejector in .32-20 with a 5" barrel. I have another .32-20 from about 1904 with a round butt & 5" barrel, but I don't use it much. I guess I should.

No kidding! A few months ago I had no revolvers and now I have three. Really wanting a .22 wheel gun, and that K-22 suggested by dennishoddy looks nice. Probably pricey too, though.

Roger that on the addictive part. I also would like a K-22. I have a no dash 6" TTT RR Model 14 made in 59. It is one sweet shooting SOB. Cant imagine a pre designation 22. Would be awesome.
