New Smokeless ML Field Report

Dang! That's sounds like a hella lot of powder! That's basically twice what I put in my .375 Winchester and it's no slouch. Granted my bullets are 20 grains heavier but still...

Note: 38.0 grains runs about 2200 through my Marlin.

I had one of those made too. That guy in VA does a good job setting up those barrels and mine shoots sweet too!

It was certainly not my ideal I stole it from several other people I had two rifles done mine is more expenseive on the base gun i did my sons on the cheap! Here is the break own of my sons gun.

Used 45-70 barrel off Ebay $100.00
Savage Breech plug $36.00
Barrel work and plug fitted $110.00
DNZ Scope mount $50.00

Re use old red field scope Free

So i have less then $500.00 bucks in a smokeless ML!

Well I'm a machinist so threading the barrel would be easy. Id just need to measure one or get the diamentions. So Id probably get to save the $110 on that part. Not to mention, if I can get ahold of the breach plug I could just make that too.... Or a few lol
I looked up a new H&R Handi 45-70, looks like I can get one new for about $300ish.
I might seriously start doing some research on this!
So... Who gonna let me borrow a breach plug to reverse engineer???

Ok I may have found a different cheaper rout for me to go.
Apparently the 700ML I currently have is easily converted to smokeless. For a $100 I can just send it to SmokelessMZ and he'll do it all. Pac Nor barrel and Savage breech plug.
Slap a better trigger and a nice stock and I should have a sweet shooting smokeless ML for a couple hundred bucks.

Absolutely!
It still loads from the muzzle.
