Good for her. With the money that she's spending in Africa and in other places in the developing world, she's feeding lots of families. Think of all the businesses and individuals that are involved in booking and supporting her hunts and taxidermy work. Well done, lady.

Why a Giraffe? Come on, you guys surely don't condone a gentle animal such as a Giraffe? How hard is it to track and stalk a Giraffe?

It is sick to do so.

How hard is it to pay to sit in an elevated box blind and shoot a deer coming for his daily meal at a pile of corn?
Criticizing other's choice of legal hunts is a very slippery slope and fodder for banning all hunting.
I am astounded at the hunters and shooters who do so, as long as nobody is after THEM.

If I am not mistaken, a zoo in Europe recently slaughtered one of their giraffe's and fed it to their large cats. Seems like it wasn't fit for breeding and no other zoo wanted it, so it became cat food. At least the giraffe she killed lived a wild life till then end, and didn't get ripped to shreds by a pack of lions. I'm pretty sure that the one that she killed was mature and probably passed on it's genes.

I asked that very question when I was in Zimbabwe. Why would anybody want to shoot a giraffe? The PH told me most of them were shot out of frustration or anger. They spoil a lot of stalks on plains game because they will follow the hunters trying to approach game for a shot. They tower over most of the trees and can keep up with the progress of the hunters just walking alongside of them. The hunter gets sick of it, there is a license or permit available, and voila ... dead giraffe. Plus, he said they make a very impressive trophy if you have room for it. Tan the hide for a rug right in front of that massive 'shoulder' mount standing in the corner of the room. Didn't interest me. They didn't spoil any hunting for me.

I wouldn't kick her out of bed for shooting wild animals. I'm not into the whole trophy thing, but if the meat gets used, I'm cool with it.
this makes me wonder all the time the people that go to Africa to hunt some wild animal. Do they keep the meat and eat it or does it go to waste just so they can have a trophy? When I hunt which is rare, I do it strictly to eat, nothing more. I don't take pictures or anything. It is not a trophy to me. I'm not bad mouthing people that do it i just don't. I think this makes hunters look bad. Gives pita something to beech about. And she must be trying to cover something up with the 10 pounds of makeup she is wearing.
