Meh. There's a reason suicide attempts aren't all that rare among sex offenders facing prison time. Death is an escape from punishment/stigma.

Yeah I do not envy that jury. Took the judge like 7 minutes just to read the charges.

I think there are very few cases where non-murder crimes should result in life in prison.

Rapists should be offered castration in return for a shorter sentence.

Rape is a serious and horrific crime, but it's not murder.
