Those quail hunts were part of the Grand National Quail Hunts, taking place on several places across the state..........based out of Enid and organized by Groendyke. I've been on part of the ranch on the river, now McKinnley Ranch IIRC..........who has a guy that leases it out and runs a hog hunting operation on it.

I spent two months driving out there in 83-84 to a drilling rig. I worked the night shift and we would see his bison herd head for pasture every morning. I think he had at least fifty bison.

It was hard to get onto his place. There were several farm ponds that only close friends and workers could fish.

Some advise on placing and wiring T-post to feeder legs, be sure you don't leave a gap big enough for the hog to get his head and shoulders through. He will use the T-post as a pivot point until he gets enough leverage to bend the metal portion of the leg that attaches to the feeder barrel. Yes, I have the pictures to prove this. After some time working at it, almost two hours one night, he will bend the leg enough until it collapse. All three T-post remained in the ground and wire tied to the feeder legs that were still attached to the feeder. One large hog managed to kill the same feeder three times the year before last. SOB is still running my farm and has a bounty on his head. Just something to consider, if you do the T-post trick. Plus that's the only hog on my farm, I can't imagine the kind of damage 10-20 of them would do.

Well, don't feel bad. I just found fresh hog sign on my other farm out by Cogar. We have never had hogs on it before now, but it looks like our luck has run out. It was just a matter of time, I guess.

I've been shooting hogs in Binger for a couple years now... Last year only shot 4, year before 17. All on a small field.
